Frequently Asked Questions

Questions

Answers

What is the lead time?
This varies depending upon availability of chosen woods and our workload. Average turnaround time after the design process is completed ranges from 6 to 16 weeks.

What will the kitchen cost?
We have done kitchens from $16,000 to well over $100,000. The average seems to be in the $30,000 to $40,000 range, plus installation. Budget considerations are part of the design process.

What about counter tops?
Unlike 98% of custom cabinetmakers, we manufacture and install our own counter tops of wood and stone, including custom sinks of stone and copper, thus saving you money and time. For more information, please see our section on Countertops.

What about appliances?
We can help with the appliance cost by providing a source where we can obtain extremely competitive prices. We supply appliances to nearly all of our clients through our dealer, Cocoplum Appliances.

What about exhaust systems?
We supply the exhaust system. We do our own design and manufacturing, so that the system is built in. Custom copper hoods are also available.

Who will do the installation?
We feel that installations are part of the design and craftsmanship, so we prefer to install what we design and manufacture.

What type of protective coating is used?
We use the best finishes available applied by hand and state of the art equipment.

What is the warranty? Tell me more about your finish.
Our joinery and workmanship is covered for 10 years, the hardware in some cases is lifetime. At our first meeting, we will provide you with a multi-page flyer that explains our finish process –the care of our finish, as well as cautions on moisture control in your home.

Where can I see your cabinetry?
Examples of our work are available at our furniture dealers. We can arrange for you to contact a dealer near you. Some of our furniture dealers have a kitchen to show you either in their residence or shop. During the design process, we encourage you to visit our shop In Hardwick, MA.

Where can I purchase your furniture?
Our furniture is not sold directly. Instead, we have a very select group of retail shops. These include:
