Time Worn and Natural Patina

Combing historic-looking warmth with modern technology, J. Dana Design recreates the timeworn appearances found on original antique furniture in our cabinet construction. Painted or natural, our proprietary techniques create unsurpassed finishes that express a patina and depth that custom and commercial cabinetmakers will never rival. Ours is a multi-step process that results in a durable finish; one that retains its charming surface while also accurately duplicating the character accumulated over many years. For painted finishes, milk paint is an ideal product for reproduction furniture and woodwork. The colors are deep and rich, long lasting and extremely fade-resistant. It also displays a texture that cannot be duplicated with today's commercial paints. Milk paint finishes can duplicate the finishes of many eras, ranging from the early primitive to the high style of decorated federal period furniture. Application, level of worn appearance, and aging techniques are custom suited to client preference. Artistically hand-applied, these techniques give our products a persuasive feel of warmth, beauty, and many years of loving use.
